Go-Karts,Puddles, Pizza and Pot...a day with my son

2003-06-14 - 8:02 p.m.

today was a pretty cool saturday..as most of you know, my son stays with his mom on the weekend..but THIS is fathers day weekend so he's hangin out with me..YAY! so to celebrate this occasion..i beat him with a dead possum and then grounded him till monday...HAHAHAHA! no..i didnt REALLY ground him (or beat him with the possum)...what we DID do was go to the go-kart track and see Finding Nemo...

The Go Kart Track

We got tickets for four laps...the first lap was kinda boring because i didnt wait till other people were out on the track at the same time...the last three laps were a lot better as we passed the person in front of us each time...and i have it ALLL on video...in the first one you can hear brian say "no bumping daddy! the sign says no bumping!" its not MY fault the kid in front of me uses his brakes...so after we passed him we passed three other people (2 on the last lap) so it was a good time...

Finding Nemo

got to the movies about 1 hr early and got the tickets...since we had time to spare we got some food..1 large drink, 1 small drink, a hot dog and a personal pan pizza..grand total..$17.25...it was actually cheaper to WATCH the movie than it was too eat food before it...the movie was pretty funny but the ONE part that had me near hysterics was when the blue fish, Dorey?, was speakin Whale-Talk to the whale..it was hilarious..if you saw the movie...you know what im talkin about..if you didnt..well that sux...lol ...after the movie we get to the exit and find that in the 2 hrs that we were inside the day went form 90 degrees and sunny to about 70 degrees and POURING rain...i dont mean light showers i mean "we sprinted to the car and were soaking wet within the first 5 steps we took...so we ran all the way to the car laffin and stompin in puddles...hey..already soakin wet..not like we're gonna get any wetter...

back home we decided to order papa johns pizza..and yes its ONLY at the time of this entry that i realized i already had pizza earlier...so what...we ate pizza and played gran turismo 3 and video taped a burpin contest...GOOD TIMES!!

oh yeah..in a TOTALLY unrelated story...i KNOW that DC gets its fair share of bad press about the "drug problem" and "open air drug markets"..but this is ridiculous!!
